Damn, that's a nasty one. I strained mine a couple of times back when we were climbing, but short of actual tearing, so managed to get away with rest, anti-inflammatories etc. Good luck with that.

On my front, seems the cat surgery went well. He managed to repair the ligament and more of the soft tissue wounds than he thought he'd be able to, and installed a couple of pins and a halo-type frame to stabilise the joint while it heals. At least 2-3 days before she can come home, and then it will be follow-ups every few days for cleaning etc.

All good. Now all I have to worry about is the bill, not that it matters. :)

Great to hear 👌 certainly a load off when things go well.

My Gracie got a grass seed ... we think buried into her skin. She seemed to be favouring one foot and limping. I checked under her paw as she gets matted there. I removed one matt and the next morning woke to her having de haired that one paw ... and the skin underneath was red and swollen ... so off to the vet.

Surgery .. which found nothing, antibiotics and pain relief and daily paw soaks and still not looking great.

It's worse when you can't figure out what the problem is. :( Good luck with that.

I finally got my fixed fibre line installed, so I'm off the useless LTE. How nice to have fast internet for a change. :D

Had to do a big online shopping order this week. I usually only do this once every few months, when I need bulky things like toilet paper and cereal. Received my order last night and didn't pay close enough attention I guess because I completely missed that my cereal wasn't delivered. I didn't notice this until I went to have breakfast this morning and there was nothing there.

On the plus side: I called Tesco and they immediately and without question refunded the cost. On the minus: this means I now have to go out and buy some at the shops, making an extra trip outside when I could have waited another full week before I went out. I'll also probably have to make more trips in future weeks, too, because I can't carry more than one or two boxes at a time (the whole reason I order online). Also, I had to have toast for breakfast, and the bread I have right now - because my usual stuff was sold out - makes really terrible toast.

Av - glad to hear it went well.

Saved an abandoned puppy this week.
But her two siblings would not come near
Me. She is up for adoption Friday. She smelled
Of a dead animal when I grabbed her. I'm afraid
Her mother died and she was still staying near
Her. She was thin, but not emaciated. She cried
For her siblings. But she will survive. The vultures
Were near her when I got her. A lot of vultures.
Whoever abandoned the dogs is an asshole.

Av, glad to hear of your kitty not losing the leg.
I want a puppy, but with my wife's allergies, we are holding off for now.
My daughter wants a kitty, but same thing.

Believe in karma; don't take justice upon yourself, nor try to render justice on your perception of yourself.

Yes, Sarge, that's me talking, not you. I get that you don't see things that way...and that's OK.

Elsewhere you kvetch about those with different views screening you out. I certainly don't always agree with your opinions, but [channels Spock] I am and will always be your friend.

I like to see the sweet sides of you manly dudes 😉 you did good Sarge.

I feel you ... actually. I spent the last 5 months + doing post bushfire wildlife search and rescue ... and we only assessed 7 koalas all of which were severely emaciated and dehydrated and we KNOW there are more out there in likely the very same condition ... but we couldnt get to them.

There was nothing more I could do ... once the local rescue group got cold feet and pulled their license. After that we were totally fucked.

You did all you could and instead of 4 emaciated pups dying ... you have saved one.

Cags can Carla take antihistamines? For the allergies?? Then you can have a puppy .... OR guess what get a breed that has non-allergenic fur.

I have a Maltese they have a single hair layer very much like human hair and is non-allergenic also poodle crosses are great prospects for the same reason and poodle fur also doesnt smell doggy ... its awesome.

Food for thought 🤔😉😂

Thank you Savor Dam. Thank you Sky.

Good news. They named the pup Molly.
Like my beloved Molly Ringwald. She is
Up for adoption today and a group of
Folks are in line to adopt.

I choose friends because I like the person.
Not because the politics. I love Coz to
Death, we can not be more unlike each other.
But we get along. I know he is a socialist.
I might believe he is wrong, but I defend his
Right to believe it.

I hope she gets a good home. I worry about the shelter I volunteer at - they have a pretty solid foster program that has helped a lot over the past couple of months (and a lot of folks who fostered while working from home ended up adopting the critter) - but now we're getting into kitten season, and that's a bit trickier because while we do have a kitten foster crew, they're not going to adopt the entire litter, and arranging meetings with potential adopters is complicated right now. Not a good year to be a kitten. Not a good year to be anyone, but I have a soft spot for kittens.

Well, cat is home (since sat) and miserable. Has to be confined for up to 6 weeks, so we'll see how it goes. Have built an enclosure for her in my cupboard, but she's not very impressed. :)

Back to the vet today for bandage changes. Also, she hasn't eaten since I got her back, and I'm struggling like hell to get her antibiotics into her, so hopefully they can give her the shot instead. Hopefully.

Anyway, will see how it goes. Cost a fortune of course, but worth it every time. (Also, she is now the new record holder of my most expensive cat. :D )

Do you have a space to build a catio? So she can go outside but still be "confined?"

The antibiotic shots are the best. My youngest is known as The Squirminator. I dread having to medicate her.

Min is now my two-time record holder for vet bills, first for her week-long hospitalization for corona (yes, really - no, not the same one that's going around), and then for having her spleen removed. She's my baby though.

Well, she's back at the vet since yesterday...still not eating, although her vitals are fine. They had to syringe-feed her last night. Apparently they suspect she has a very sore throat (I assume from intubation during surgery) so they've adjusted treatment accordingly, now we waiting to see if she will eat. *sigh*

Menolly, I live in a flat (apartment?) so there's no "outside" for her to go to, other than the "real" outside. :)

Ah. No balcony to screen in and set up a platform or something for her to perch on? That's a shame.

I have a balcony, but it's completely enclosed. Not usually a problem since they outdoor cats.
