Could be some temporal nonsense afoot. There's no rational reason to explain why this week has been so long.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

My boss was out on vacation all week, so my workload was about doubled. She's traveling across the country visiting all her friends and extended family, and she'd better not come back sick. I wouldn't want to travel right now. She swears she's taking allll the precautions, but considering she never wears her mask properly, and is constantly touching her face, I'm a little worried.

What city are you from Sorus? I read a headline the other day that said a very high percentage of New York residents were already testing positive for antibodies - something around seventy percent I think it was - maybe the same pertains elsewhere as well.

San Francisco. We had things under control until they recently relaxed the lockdown, and now cases are climbing.

I would be interested in getting an antibody test. I was really sick back in January, which I wrote off as a bad cold because there were no confirmed cases of COVID in the US at the time - and it probably was a cold, but if I had the same symptoms today, I would have no doubt it was COVID. A lot of IFs there though - IF it was, IF having it grants immunity, IF the immunity lasts.

People here came out of lockdown acting like it's over, and that's very frustrating to those of us who have worked through the whole damn thing and are still taking precautions seriously.

Signs emerging (as reported by the UK press today) that immunity is pretty short lived. Measurements of antibodies apparently show a sharp decline following a few months, which is good news (I suppose) for the Big-Pharma companies that are into vaccine production (coz they'll get to get people to have one every year instead of just a one-off) but not so good for the rest of us.

:(

Yeah, this has been suspected in the medical community from the start, from what I understand. What with this being a virus. It's also possible a vaccine may need to be done more frequently than annually, since this mutates so fast and so far does not appear to be a seasonal virus.

I totally get that, sarge.

Unfortunately, a lot of the anger and frustration is totally justified. I believe it needs to be expressed and changes made, but it needs to be done in a civil manner, without tempers flaring up on any side.

Hopefully massive change will begin in January in the US at the latest.

Being acquainted with both Sarge and Menolly, I very much doubt their visions of desired change coincide. He is a law-and-order conservative and she is self-described as slightly left of Trotsky.

We still have greatly enjoyed each other's company at Elohimfests.

I have finally seen my first comet! Too faint for a photo with my phone, but my Dam-sel's binoculars brought NEOWISE front and center!

I saw Halley's Comet back in the day Menolly; similarly it was just a cotton ball faintly visible through my binoculars (but then the Aurora Borealis wasn't much better)......

But the point is that we have seen them! "There are two kinds of people in the world" and all that.......

I'd love to see the Aurora Borealis someday. I was too young to fully appreciate Halley's Comet, but I did watch Hale-Bopp from my roof (that ladder was terrifying, and I say that as someone with no real fear of heights).

Hale-Bopp was for me, the way more visually impressive - but Haley's has that 'thing' to it....that ring. There it is on the Bayeux Tapestry and all, everyone knows it. It just seems to be "the one" to see.
