What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?
Moderator: I'm Murrin
It's a complete novel on its own, and very satisfying. The other coming novels are other characters' adventures and such. Go for itAvatar wrote:not sure how I feel about another series that is only just starting...

Good to know, I think I shall add it to my next order, thanks. (I remember Murrin recommending it some time ago, but I hadn't realised it was going to be a "series")
(I guess I shall read The Last Continent next, since I haven't replaced my 5th Elephant since it was in the bag that was stolen from my car...I was reading it at the time, and apart from the quite expensive med kit I kept in the boot (trunk), (and the bag itself which was sentimental) it's the only thing I was annoyed about losing.

I honestly don't know how I would deal with such a tragedy.Avatar wrote:it was in the bag that was stolen from my car...

Ever read Lev Grossman's The Magicians, Av? Just finished it and can give it the thumbs up. Harry Potter for adults sums it up.
The truth is a Lion and does not need protection. Once free it will look after itself.

'Then let it end.'

That reminds me, I was enjoying the show for the first two seasons, but haven't seen 3 or beyond. I wonder how many seasons they're up to now.peter wrote:Ever read Lev Grossman's The Magicians, Av? Just finished it and can give it the thumbs up. Harry Potter for adults sums it up.

Don't know if anyone's talked about it, bit I'm reading The Dark Forest, book two in The Three-Body Problem by the Chinese writer Liu Cixin. The title refers to the three-body problem in orbital mechanics. It is the first novel of the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy, but Chinese readers generally refer to the whole series as The Three-Body Problem. Rumor has it that “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (and Alexander Woo) are adapting it and it should be released as a series on Netflix in 2022. Cixic...is in a bunch of hot water for siding with the Chinese Govt. re the Uyghur Muslims...
