Hello everyone. Another newbie here; I've already chatted to a few of you (and thanks all for being so welcoming :D ) but I thought that I should say "hi" properly. So greetings one and all.

Hi there Gart. Welcome to the Watch. Hope you are well!xxx
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.

I be newbie

Post by taraswizard »

OK, I posted one message already as unregistered 'replying to China Mieville' discussion. But now my registration seem to be all sorted out. :D

Some of you already know me from chats. Or Ahiras Hangar or from other places on the net  to Zahir.

As you might guess from my screen name I am a big Buffy, really Jossverse in general, fan. But I have been reading and/or watching SF and F for really close to 40 yrs. now. Have been a big Star Trek fan (TOS, TNG, DS9, not so much Voyager and no Enterprise). Still of the opinion Babylon 5 was the best episodic space opera series ever on TV.

Book wise always been a big fan of RA Heinlein (Podkayne of Marswas first SF book I ever read), Frank Herbert (Dune and Dosadi experiment), went through periods of reading lots of Larry Niven, when I was younger my tastes were very not much fantasy oriented but now I find myself much interested in fantasy as opposed to SF. And only now, after a almost 11 yr lull, finding myself seriously reading again. My want to read list is way to long.

Otherwise, currently between jobs after 24 yrs with the same company. Currently live in the Chicago suburbs  damelon, moved here in 1992 for job reasons, not a Illinois or Midwest native. Other hobbies, well amateur radio licensee and SW listener for a long time, and past president of local ham radio club.

Nuff of that, cause it was getting pretty boring. everyone

Halfway down the stairs Is the stair where I sit. There isn't any other stair quite like it. I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top; So this is the stair where I always stop.

For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Very nice! I'm a huge Buffy fan myself. Alas, but none of my real-life friends are into it.

Perhaps elsewhere, but here it's pretty riveting ;)

hey y'all. stop fretting, your god is here. I agree, Buffy is fantastic, and Babylon 5 was the best sci-fi on TV.
