The best movie ever? As you wish.

Post by variol son »

I arrived at work the other day to find that they had hired The Princess Bride out on video.

:S

And they even let me take it home, where I watched it five times.

:faint:

It is just so great. So very, very great.

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
And then one day she realized that when he said "as you wish", he actually meant "I love you".

You say that word a lot. I don't think it means what you think it means.

This is one of my all time favourite films and books. In my top ten on both counts and I always buy a copy of the book for people I loooove.
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.

Book? I must get a copy! Who is the author?

If I got a copy of that book from the one I loved, I'd be stoked. :D

:LOLS: I almost forgot about the R.O.U.S's. :LOLS:

And let's also not forget one very important thing: Andre the Giant. He's just so adorable. :D Kinda like a big teddy bear. |G

I was once driving behind a car with a specialized license plate: R O U S
I pulled along side him at a red light, and beeped for him to roll down his window. He looked kinda like, "What the heck does this guy want." I said, "Rodents of unusual size?" It took him a few seconds to figure out what I was talking about. Then he broke into a big smile and nodded. :D

Hey, Inigo has a couple of intense lines in the movie, eh?
First, that little chuckle he gives when says:
"So the next time we meet, I will no' fail."
And the end:
"Offer me everything I ask for."

"Anything you want."

"I want my father back, you son of a bitch!"

Timing, as they say in the trade, is everything. Stephen King has an article in this week's Entertainment Weekly. (Maybe he has a column, for all I know.) He asked people to send in their favorite movie lines. 3,000 responses, "each containing as many as 10 movie lines that readers remember fondly," came up with this as #1:
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Three other PB lines are in the top 25.
"Inconceivable!"
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"Have fun storming the castle!"
"As you wish."

btw, they didn't print the Top 10, 100, or any other number. Wouldn't you think that was the plan???? <img src=kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/album_see.php?id=111> Yet they printed 50 of their own picks! Go figure. But at least one of theirs, #14, was this:
"I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries."

Enjoyable but I'll take Shawshank Redemption instead please.
