Salutations to my fellow CoTC fans!

Post by Krilly »

Thought I'd say hi and all that. I'm brand new here but I've been a Donaldson fan for a long time. I've read A Mirror of Her Dreams, A Man Rides Through, The first three books of The Gap, and the current six books of Thomas Covenant. The latter being my personal favorite.

At any rate, I find it just a bit difficult to talk to others who have read the books so I figured this was as good a place as any to discuss them. :D So if anyone wants to discuss the hidden, philosophical, and psycological meanings of The Chronicles, just give me a buzz.

Just a little about me... my name's Jack, I'm a Junior at Columbia College in Chicago. I'm majoring in computer animation and minoring in drawing/design.

My favorite characters are (in no particular order) Mhorham, Saltheart, Vain, Elena, and of course Thomas.

Basically, I'm sort of stunned that someone can major in computer animation. But I guess that means I'm getting old

Howdy do.

Hail Krilly. Welcome and well-met my friend. :D

Welcome to the Kevin's Watch, Krilly. If I could have majored in Animation I would have. :D Very cool! I can't argue with your choices of favorite characters. I agree with you. See you around.

Greetings and welcome, Krilly! Computer animation, you say? You could have a very bright future ahead. :)

Glad you included Elena in your list. I've always sympathized with her character, but I don't often see her mentioned in other folks' favorites lists.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. :o

Not a lot of Elena fans out there? I think I like her so much because she's so racked with duality. She possesses great strength yet succumbs to the gravest of weaknesses, she loves and hates as one, and is torn between several goals that have different paths but ultimately the same end. Self-destruction. Yet destruction is something that seems so unlike her, a woman who creates things so readily: art (marrowmeld), strength (her fellow Lords), vision (Troy), devotion (preparing the warrios), and love (her father).

Hey hey!

I'm really liking Kevin's Watch. The avatar and item system is interesting, and I'm only just figuring it out.

Like my icon and title? Hehe.

I need to save the rest of my $ now, but I don't know what I want to save up for...

Welcome to the Watch, Krilly!

It's funny how many of us have found the Watch the way that you did - out of a desire to discuss Thomas Covenant, but no one to discuss it with personally.

Let me direct you to the Dissecting Forum, where the first 5 books have been dissected and discussed in their entirety. We're currently dissecting WGW.

Hi there Krilly, a hearty welcome to the Watch!!!
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.
