I could read LFB... or the vitals of it in a few days... I can speed read though.Murrin wrote:I would have reread the whole series, but there isn't enough time. Just reading LFB will take me up to the release date, I think (it always takes me longer to read TCTC than any other books).

I can understand why it takes a long time though.
I've read the first series I think 4 times and the 2nd Chronicles twice but strangely wasn't aware there was even a 2nd Chronicles until about3 or 4 years ago. I could read them over and over, too (given enough time)~!Prince of Amber wrote:I know - I wanted to read the previous six (7 if you include the little one) books before Runes, but to tell you the truth I know them inside out anyway- For years I never even imagined there would be a 3rd (and final) Chronicles so I was just content to read them over and over again - probably something like 10 times in 20 years.
I am a big fan of RZ, I'm very happy at the moment because I've just completed my Amber collection with all of the Merlin books in First editions (a lot of Christmas and Birthday presents from the wife)

Re the Amber collection, sweet, and it sounds like you have a really cool wife~! I hope I'll find one like that someday, too~!

Er...then what is the point of having an ARC? You must have some kind of willpower to have held off reading the book for so long. I wouldn't have put myself through such needless anguish.Prince of Amber wrote:Now here's a funny thing - I've had an ARC for over a week now - and I just can't read it.

Thats just the point - Why did I buy an ARC?
I have waited for this book for so long, and I should have read it in a single go, as soon as I got it, but as me nana used to say 'there's nothing so queer as folk'
And the ARC was only 40 quid, and it has such a cool cover (especially if, like me, you don't get Tolkein)

There is also Love in the World.
