As it stands, I have duty on the 23rd, so Sunday would work best for me. Things are always up in the air as far as my work schedule is concerned, though, so...

I'll bring my digital camera. Canon EOS 10D - I know - it's old - but it still works pretty well!

Sunday the 24th works for me. How about Brunch? That way I can sleep in. :-)

Anyone know of a good place in Fairfax (perhaps near the beltway)? I think that's reasonably in the middle of us all.

Don't know any spots, but a Fairfax brunch sounds good.

I'm in Fairfax so I'll look for a place near the beltway and let everyone know. What time do we want to meet on Sunday the 24th?

We can just do 10:30 then.

Haven't heard from Jay yet. Hopefully he can squeeze it in. (I'll PM him.)

Ali believes that she can. Whoo hoo!!

(And thank the gods that we won't be meeting in Foggy Bottom -- there's NOWHERE good here for lunch that doesn't require an expense account...)

Hmm, Fairfax, near the Beltway. Something near Tysons? Or maybe near Springfield Mall (it would be closer for Caer, and he's traveling the farthest).

There's an IHOP right off I-395 at the Duke St. exit, but that's cheating 'cos it's only about a mile from my house. :)

Jay, if you need a ride, let us know. I could certainly run shuttle service from the Metro if need be.

I like IHOP!! I'm fine with this one if it works for everybody else. [the ones I know are on 50 - inside the beltway and 29 outside the beltway. Duke St. isn't that much further than these.]

What say you all?!

I used to live near the one on 29, too. :D

Trying to visualize where the one on 50 is.... But I don't care which one we pick. You guys decide.

Springfield Mall sounds good. I used to live near there about ten years ago, and it's changed a LOT. But I do know that there's a good diner in the mall parking lot. I forget the name, but I met someone else there for lunch once (another cyber-friend that I made on my software-support site).

IHOP is good as well, of course. :-)

The diner by Springfield Mall is a Silver Diner.

It sounds like Caer is the most "travel challenged" of us - so let's let him pick between aliantha's IHOP and the Silver dinner if you both agree. Romeo, is Jay coming?

[Of course all our other Watch friends could fly in and have brunch with us too if they want! Hmmmmm .... maybe Romeo could invite SRD!!]

He's going to be on his book tour - I don't think he'll be able to make it. :-)

Hey, don't worry about me. There's the off chance that my sched could change, plus I'll probably be going into DC to see a buddy of mine, so a few miles here or there won't kill me. Offhand, though, I'd say the Silver Diner sounds interesting.
