I think Kastenessen is the obvious bet. Personally I believe it has something to do with the Skurj. (ominous,unexplained beings) maybe not

The last two are intresting if in fact he is possed by Skurj and the words corellate. If you look it up, the pronunciation of scourge is listed as (skurj) hmmm.
