If you like Anne Mccaffrey...

Post by Baradakas »

Check out Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince Trilogy, a must read! If you enjoy that (I'm almost certain you will), try the Dragon Star trilogy. (the follow-up to DP) Should these appeal to you and you want something a little different try the Golden Key (co-written by Jennifer Roberson and Kate Elliot) a novel about art and magic. Finally, the Exiles trilogy is also very good (life in a woman dominated government), though the third book is forthcoming in the next few years.

Anyone read any of these? The writing style differs in many ways, but she is a master of character development, and I love her books almost as much as SRD's.

Now we will have INPUT! ;)

His response: "Holy $&!^. He's not kidding! Look at all these muffins!"

A touch optimistic there Baradakas?

Still, I love the Dragon Prince books, as we've established elsewhere. Although they don't have the scope of Anne McCaffrey's work, I think they do better in providing that sense of an over-riding history to the setting, a detail I always think is both important and desirable.

As I mentioned, I haven't gotten around to the second series yet, but I definitely intend to. (Now I just have to find the damn things!) :)

Anyway, just passing through. This seems to be the first post here in ages.
