When Fist says the prologue is intense he isn't kidding! 8O 8O 8O 8O

Over the weekend I got a chance to read that and the first couple of chapters (spending time with the living was more important to me than reading a book  ) and just that little bit of the book blew me away. :D

Damelon had just picked up his copy before meeting me, and I warned him several times about how intense that prologue is. :o

I got mine today. I read the "what has gone before" but now I must be strong until tomorrow, when I can read it on my flight to the UK - or maybe start in the airport lounge...

What? I understand that like me you had probably read the 1st chapter of the prologue a dozen times since it was first posted on SRD's website - but how could you know the other 4 chapters so well?

The Prologue is the first 77 pages. I had only seen the first 16 of them, Mother's Son, on SRD's site.

Done! Finished it over the weekend. I've already posted some stuff in the Runes thingum (if anyone cares, which probably they don't...).

Is it just me, or is the font a tad small? I wonder how many pages the darn thing would've been if they'd used 12 pt type??

I'll have forgotten about it by the time it arrives...

Here's a scary thought: By the time Revenant arrives, I'll have been a Watch member for six years 8O Even scarier: That's as long again as I've already been here 8O

Herein lies Mouseglove's all-too-recently-finished review of RotE:

Sunday night: Get book. Salivate. Drive home. Open book. Sniff. Sigh. Read.

Monday afternoon: Swear to savor the book, read slowly and in little bits. Excitement mounting. 50 pages in. Impatient. Grinning.

Monday night: Too tired to do anything, but reading in bed sounds good. Finish over half the book. Lots of scratching my head and swearing softly under my breath.

Tuesday morning: Read a bit more. (Bit = 3rd quarter of the book). Eat breakfast. Decide to read a bit more (same amount of bit).

Tuesday noon-ish: Finish book. Grin. Reality dawns. Shout. Begin cursing SRD (softly) for being such a cruel man as to leave me to wait HOWEVER long it will be until the second book comes out, all based on the last page!

Fabulous book. Cruel author. Will say something to him in March when I see him. Will tell Perry I think she turned out really well considering how cruel a person her old man is. ;)

As I said to my wife, "It's not like I wasn't ALREADY going to read the next book. Sheesh. He's just mean!" 8)

I got Runes Yesterday in the UK, can only read a bit in lunch hours because I have a three month old (delightful) daughter.

First impression "God thats a hefty book!"

I managed to read the what has gone before prologue, I'm impressed by the explanation, must be 15 years since I last read the 2nd chronicles.

But the UK bookjacket is mostly black, kind of an abstract forest, not the painting I've seen on the US books, the uk book looks classy, but I'd like to have had the US version.
