Depends on how much you obey the law-makers, doesn't it?

I decide what is good in terms of my own role, and perform it faithfully.

Not my problem if they see it differently. ;)

well most laws are pretty common sense. don't hurt each other. after that it gets murky.

Avatar, there really is a forced perspective at work. I mean... if you want to deal with other people at all, you have to accept some compromises. Society, in my opinion, is at least partly definable as the common ground for humans to interact upon.

Because humans are so greatly varied, we create versions of ourselves to act out in public, but I think most people realize that if given the chance to do what they wanted, when they wanted, and how they wanted, they would be leading very different lives.

Or maybe it's just me. :)

use what you have,
do what you can.
