Welp... Figured I had to start somewhere, and even though I think being called a newbie is rude, this is as good a place as any I suppose. Anyway... No need to say my name... It's already showing, but I would just like to start by asking:
Am I the only one terrified and not too happy about a movie being made out of these books? I don't think a movie made by ANYBODY could ever do them justice since most of the concepts in the story are abstract and too emotionally deep to ever be conveyed by simple actors.
Just my feeling, but I really would love to hear other opinions on this.

Hi, Dee! This is a great place to be. Check out all of the other forums, too. I think you'll find a lot of like minds. My favorite book was The Power That Preserves. I love that Covenant finally starts to "get it" and quits acting like such a jerk and we get to see some of the good person inside. I also love the end-

The movie is definitely a big question mark, but we can always hope that the apparently genuine passion the producers have for the books will translate into a passionate and reasonably faithful film adaptation.
I can't comment on Runes as I haven't read it yet, but of the other 6 books...The Illearth War and The One Tree both made such a powerful impact on me that I'd feel guilty choosing one over the other. TIW's tragic heroism and the doomed triumvirate of Troy, Elena and Covenant was like nothing I had ever read before (or since) in my life. And TOT's epic sea voyage to realms and great powers beyond the Land left me in awe.

Just joined here as well today and wanted to greet everyone.
I've been a huge fan of SRD's for many years. His only fault being that he cannot crank out a new book every week
I seem to find that fault with many of my favorite authors ::sigh::
And for my favorite TC book.... I would honestly have to say Runes, which I just finished of course
I was extremely pleased with the detail and how well the story tied into the series without "stretching" your belief. The Linden Avery sequence tied in really well, and the cliffhanger at the end has me drooling for book 8.
If I could enter a Fall and get the whole series now, I would not be able to restrain myself
