Further stuff
Pretty self explanatory. Further stuff that fell randomly out of my head. Again, my favoured first person style.
Announcement: This has been removed in my great purge of 31/8/05. I may send any or all of these to genre publications, and I don't want any issues because they're available here for free.

Stop reading these things! You scare me!
Seriously, thanks. I don't make any claims as to the quality or lack thereof of anything that meanders its way out of my head through my fingers. The stories tell themselves.
As for preferring the last one - I often feel I'll never match my early efforts (I'm thinking specifically of Mist, Foul 2 and my anthology entry) so you could be right.

A matter of preference is as often down to the feeling of the moment as anything else, and I don't think you have to worry much about the quality of the stuff that comes out.
As for thinking earlier efforts are better, sometimes I agree, and sometimes when I look at my own earlier stuff I think its rubbish.
My own thing is that I edit too little. Once it's out, I tend to leave it alone. I've got probably scores of poems that would be a lot better for some judicious editing and rewriting but, almost always, I never rewrite.
As to things meandering out through your fingers, did you see the poem I posted here called "Writing"? (Shameless self-promotion

The Hall has been busy, I see it's way back on page two.

Yeah, I can't decide whether it's a flaw or not. When I'm doing it, I don't think so, but years later, I do. Problem is, what with being lazy in the first place, and loathe to fiddle afterwards, I usually never even do it to the ones that I think could use it. Oh well, Ce la vie.

That was truly excellent, Cov Jr! Well written and full of emotion. I love the way you work emotion and imagery into your work. And you are getting better!
