The Rose

Post by jelerak »

Breaking the barrier,
the stones of despair
now laid out before my eyes
My soul sheds no tears,
emotions withdrawn,
a rose withers, then dies

That rose was once new,
young, and was free
free to reach up to the sky
But that time is now gone,
as all things must end,
for all that is born shall die

My life was that rose,
once young, once new
your love, my life water, my soul
But that love's now gone,
life's blood has now passed,
lack of love has taken it's toll

Now withered and dry,
alone in the sand,
no one to tend to it's need
A rose turns to dust,
blows away in the wind,
All gone, but an empty seed.
