I agree.

Lord Foul's been cooped up long enough in that miserable hell-hole. He's paid his dues.

Besides, giving the prison key to a dime-store writer with eight fingers, and then parading him back and forth around the cell, amounts to psychological duress. If there was ever a case for cruel and unusual, this is it.

Poor Foul has been attacked many times now by the vermin he's forced to live with, three times to within an inch of his life. If he hadn't displayed some quick thinking and desperate measures, he'd probably be dead. This is inhumane and unethical treatment.

I say the alleged despiser should be allowed to resume life in the cosmos under probationary terms. Perhaps wearing an ankle transmitter. Then he would be able to resume his valuable contributions to immortal society.

Foul.

See, what gets me is that the bad guys, in this case Foul, always commit the same crime. That is, never killing off the hero when they got the chance. Just because the writer says you cannot take his ring does not mean you cannot try. If you are going to lose anyway why not go out in a blaze of glory. Homer Simpson got it right when he stopped James Bond escaping and caused his death before he could do any damage. Come on Foul, stop cackling and get on with the job in hand!

At last, sympathy! People are beginning to understand! Thank you, minions--I mean, nice people! I will make your universe a hell for eternity! Er--I mean, I will make it a happy place.

... and monologuing!

Covenant: So now I'm in deep trouble. I mean, one more jolt of this Illearth Stone and I'm an epitaph. Somehow I manage to turn it aside and what does Lord oh so Foul do?

Lord Mhoram: [Laughing] He starts monologuing.

Covenant: He starts monologuing! He starts this, like, prepared speech about how anile I am compared to him, how inevitable my defeat is, how the world will soon be his, yadda yadda yadda.

Lord Mhoram: Yammering.

Covenant: Yammering! I mean, the guy has me on a platter and he won't shut up!

If Foul wins at the end I will never buy another TC book(well there won't be anymore)I will be seriously pissed! He is such a blowhard,I don't think of him as evil so much as I think of him as a braggart jacka$$.When they laughed him down in Foul's Creche they should have stopped at the point where he was reduced to a baby, stuck a pacifier in his mouth, put him in a pink bunting and then made fun of him until he pooped himself and cried. In other words I don't like Lord Foul-not at all.Disclaimer:(I mean Lord Foul the character of course, not Lord Foul the KW member who I am sure is in fact a nice fellow even though he chooses to call Himself Lord Foul). ;)

I have a gut feeling about what will happen to Foul at the end of the Last Chronicles. As C.S. Lewis put it in The Magician's Nephew: 'All get what they want: they do not always like it.'
Without the Quest, our lives will be wasted.
