The Truth is You

Post by danlo »

Doors of fear slammed tight
man hiding
hiding from himself

There is no need to imagine
how it can be
for: as seen from space and conciousness
there is only one reality: truth

Borders and religions merely serve as temporary screens
the only thing we truly fear is fear
day to day life is a personal philosophic journey
that all must experience
and from which none can hide
but we try, oh, how we try

Government is nothing but strongarm propaganda
although it's lies appear to uphold the law
it is not designed for the good of the whole
only those with money,
those who seek salvation in faiths
do so out of fear and lack of faith in themselves

Fear of impending holocaust is humanity's guise upon it's image
and one of government's prime excuses to justify it's existence
it throws the poor in the direct line of fire
and takes 25% from all to build bombs in the name of peace
just as the old priests required tribute and sacrifice
to still the wrath of the angry gods
for fear that truth might one day appear
and that we might question the nescessity of rules

Clothes merely serve as a placebo of man's reality
we pretend and won't accept what is given, reinforcing jealousy
deep down inside we are naked in this reality
naked, ashamed and not knowing what to do

Doors, walls, bombs, borders, religion and clothes
will never spare man from truly being seen
the spiritual network is all that has ever held us together
they know this too as they lock us in shackles of fear
to blind us of it's absolute beauty
and it's absolute beauty has always been you

Heavy stuff, danlo 8O I particularly like the way you link modern politicians to the priests and religious leaders of the past - just how much have we evolved, anyway?

Very thought provoking!
:D

two unalterable symbols of the world;
permanence at rest, and permanence in motion;
participants in the Power that remains.

Tho I strive 2 believe in a progressive and benevolent intellectual evolution of human thought and deeds, the sad thing is that nothing has changed since I wrote this in 1981. Indeed it appears, at least in America, that we r, if nothing else, backsliding in this endevour. Here's a word that has been debated at the Watch: never lose faith that improvement is possible. If u r lucky enuf 2 find the truth w/in u it brooks no turn unless u strive 2 connect w/others who feel this way 2. No man/woman is a an island, blah, blah, change is possible but requires group effort.

Sadly, Danlo - I fear you are right on the money with this one. :(

As an expert in the field I can testify to the fact that if you do nothing to change your life, your life will not change. The same probably goes for society.

Gee Danlo, you had given me the impression that you were a much happier fellow than your poems seem to paint. I guess you have a lot on your mind. Thought provoking stuff to be sure. Well done. :-)

whoa i truly believe truth is 'the one reality' .. and we are engaged in a lifes journey - a quest for truth .. Awesome that in all this world of conflicting roads that there is still - truth! .. truth that can be realised within .. and much less - without ;)

truly phenomenal work and has served to remind me personally of all that is good and admirable in this life .. and that this life is a spiritual whole - a family - a community .. made up of individuals who make up this one phenomenal reality ;) the goal is true unity and not merely a guise of peace.

I rarely read much in the Hall of Gifts prior to Furls making known her work and a few more recent others .. I think Foul posted the first thing I ever read .. and reading these creations is kinda like a window into your souls .. and it has been an absolute pleasure to see inside and bask in the good that is evident there ..

this piece really touched me .. and i truly hope that we can forge a future where there are more windows and much more light ;)

I used to think that Furls was amazing, and Foul and clearfrontier even ;) from their written work .. and now i know that there are sooooo many amazing souls here and danlo truly you are one of those

i am embarrassed i overlooked this work and and more recently you're place among those amazing souls .. and that this profound piece was here all this time and i never read it ..

i dont see this work as sad or morose or even particularly cynical .. deep yes .. but true, enlightened and inspired .. profoundly inciteful

One seeker always recognizes another.
Thank you for baring part of your soul.
Your profound thoughts and desire
for the REAL is encouraging
in this world of frustration, dark agendas,
and the "aloneness" of truth seekers.

Could it be that in finally truly seeking
we will begin to find the Truth that was lost,
some "Holy Grail" if you will,
within............
That will re-instate man's goodness,
and begin a regeneration of a new humanity,
one that will be an embodiment of
all that we wanted in a God?

From your depth you call to ours.
Never stop seeking, Danlo.
And all that you find...
Please share with the rest of us
The other seekers.
"let the storm of thought spend itself. Presently you will arrive upon a calm sea."......Walter Lanyon
