Well, Angus isn't a tall man so I suppose Sinise could build up some fat over some muscle. Being an actor on a TV series would pretty much prohibit any real changing of appearance though.

Speaking of CSI, I reckon Marg Helgenberger would make a good Sorus, visually anyhow. I've always visualised Hashi as Edward Woodward with long, wispy hair and Hashi's trademark scratched horn-rims and labcoat.

Having seen the 51st State (although I don't think it was called that in the US) I can't help but imagine Meat Loaf as Holt after his performance as the Lizard guy. Totally OTT but perhaps that's what the part needs.

I'd love to see Paul Darrow (Avon from Blake's 7) in the Gap somewhere. Probably as Warden, but maybe Holt. He has such a fantastic voice and is totally wasted on bit parts in Die Another Day and Little Britain.

Finally I'm going to plug Cole Hauser as Nick again. I've seen him in three different roles and in each one he has perfectly portrayed a power-seeking individual who, whilst appearing slick on the outside, is a truly nasty piece of work. For that reason alone I can't think of anyone better, and his Southern drawl is just the cherry on the cake.

A. Because proper tea is theft.

Yeah, Cole Hauser does smarmy well. He'd definately do.

John Travolta as Angus? Hmm he could certainly be chunky and sinister enough.
Actually the best possible Angus would be an ex-boss of mine. Pot belly, beady eyes and all. Not to mention he's all ready a crook.

I'm on a Deadwood kick. Ian McShane as Angus, Tim Olyphant as Nick.

I have the PERFECT cast!

Angus Thermopyle – John Malkovich
Morn Hyland – Jeri Ryan
Nick Succorso – Colin Farrell
Mikka Vasaszk – Minnie Driver
Vector Shaheed – Robert Duvall
Davies Hyland – Hayden Christensen
Min Donner – Madchen Amick
Hashi Lebwohl – Neil Patrick Harris
Warden Dios – Anthony Hopkins
Ciro Vasaszk – Seth Green
Sib Mackern – Sam Rockwell
Koina Hannish – Naomi Watts
Godsen Frik – Anthony Edwards
Lane Harbinger – Parminder Nagra
The Bill – Ralph Fiennes
Sorus Chatelaine – Sigourney Weaver
Milos Taverner – Wil Wheaton
Marc Vestibule – Patrick Stewart
Holt Fasner – Christopher Walken

Don't you think Colin Farrell makes an awesome Nick? And it was hard to find someone who looked like a younger version of John Malkovich, but Hayden Christensen works OK.

We all think we have the perfect cast, Morn. There are a number of your choices that I would take strong issue with, but there are so many possibilities, we can each enjoy our own.

I have barely encountered Colin Farrell. I stopped vacillating among the young men of his age when I thought of Jude Law.

I like Jude Law, but I just couldn't imagine Nick with an accent.

I have tried very hard, and failed, not to say what I think about suggesting Ralph Fiennes as the Bill.

Only one of the finest actors of his generation. He could play just about any of the men, physical type notwithstanding.

Ralph Fiennes

Post by Morn »

I recently watched Schindler's List with Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson. I really enjoyed his character (I gotta hand it to him, not everyone can shoot a Jew at random and keep a straight face). I agree, he would make a great candidate for any GAP character.

For anyone who hasn't seen Schindler's List I recommend it. It's about the holocaust during World War II.

Sorus and I just agreed that Jennifer Connelly is Morn, and I vote for Deborah Kara Unger as Sorus! (see best book in Gap thread for DKU's photo)

Still want Peta Wilson for Morn.

They're going to have to get it together and do this movie. The actors keep aging out of their parts.

One movie for all five books, or the standard 1 book = 1 movie? I'd say it's far too much to compress into one movie, however, I also don't think TRS would work too well as a stand-alone...
Somewhere in the middle, perhaps? I believe a miniseries was mentioned, though I'd love to see it on the big screen. 8O

Trilogy, I say. TRS would run as part of FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE, with much of it covered as a montage.

Well, maybe a quad...

Quad would work best, I think. I can't imagine any of the other books not getting full screen time. It will be hard enough to fit everything into 2-3 hours as it is! 8O

I like that idea. Every SF/Fan book I read is anime-ted in my head.

If not, then I like Hudson Leick from Xena for Sorus and Kate Beckinsale for Min. Give Summer Glau a couple of more years and she'd be a great Morn.
