I bought the first 4 books of the EarthSea cycle and started reading, then ran out and bought the rest.

I love the whole series, though I found A Wizard of EarthSea a bit hard to get into at first.

It didn't really grab me till I got toward the end.

Ah! This feels good! I just picked up a little piece of real estate. Now I can go anywhere by standing still. And I can walk as far as I want, but remain in place. Truly, this Elemesnedene, this Immanent Grove, is a glorious place! :D

Like Murrin, i read and loved The Earthsea Quartet as pre-teenager and loved them. Didn't know there were more though! I'll have to re-read as well, then get me the later ones.

btw please please please do not repeat DO NOT watch the (cgi?) animated (ish?) tv series if you haven't read the books. Is VERY disappointing!

I heard enough about the animated one to not bother trying. And the Sci-fi Channel's movie was a horror. I have no idea how those who watched it all the way through managed. I had to turn it off after something like 15 minutes.

Anyway, we're Dissecting Earthsea at the Hangar, if you're interested. :D
