i dread the privatization of the prisons. i see the level of workers we get for our pay now. slash that pay and all your quality people would leave. i know i would try to get on at the post office or in my city, to carry over my 401k. and when the quality of workers goes down, assaults will rise and escapes may become common place. as private prisons are notorious for understaffing.

Hey, and if privatization of prisons goes through--and the current regime's stance on harsher (ie longer) sentences goes through--well, now--that's even more money for the corporate buddies, isn't it?

Kym--my brother works at the Federal Prison in Waseca--and he is fearful for his job as the Bush administration favors privatizing prisons--which would lead to prisons being run for profit meaning that the corporations who ran them would be more concerned with the bottom line than safety, rehabilitation, or personnel.
You're right, Cho- I didn't even get into this part of it! Maybe later when I have more time.

Kym: i'll help you here.

everyone: private prisons are for profit. that means an average of $7.oo bucks an hour for the correctional officers. that's aroundish half of what i make. so look at the mall next time you're there. see the folks working the check out lines? that's who you will get guarding escapes at the prison. good luck folks.

Kym, while you are correct that the OPM falls under the purview of the Executive Branch, it's a stretch to blame the President alone (as I took your original post).

I suppose it's to much to hope he's read TCTC.

Better get ready with the viagra. I suggest you take a a little bit more than a double dose, since last time you try, it didn't work 8O Hey if you have a heartattack, Kim is an expert for CPR, since she's a nurse you won't be an any danger to die and if you die, I guess it will be the best way to go :LOLS: with a big smile on your face

I just will feel bad for her if she doesn't get any fun :? Hmmm another dissapointed costumer :x
