Wouldnt you be distracted by a dancing tiger aswell?
i certainly would read slower if it was near me.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Traffic has really slowed in Runes forum lately, so we should be able to merge it with TC forum fairly soon.

I agree with Jay, in that we should keep it seperate, at least a good while longer. (But then, I guess fairly is pretty subjective, how long did you have in mind, Dlb?

Well, Creator and I are not in a great hurry to give up our forum (would we have to stop being mods as well?) So I don't mean to be overly subjective, I'm just saying that I think the right time to do this is approaching.

BTW - we call first dibs on the Fatal Revenant forum when it's created.

Is it even necessary? Even if we were under space constraints, they wouldn't be alleveiated by merging the forums, and to be honest, I don't see any benefits to doing so, while I can think of a couple of drawbacks without even trying.

Is "lack of traffic" your only concern? My vote is for a "Last Chrons" forum, with "sub-forums" for each book as it comes out. (Pity it wasn't done for 1st and 2nd chrons, but oh well.)

And Jay, shame on you! You seem to have managed 20 pages in more time than it's taken me to read it twice. ;)

I say we wait for phpBB3.0, then do as Avatar says - a subforum. The new phpBB version will allow for subforums and a general last chrons area in the same place.

There were some who felt that a group read on Runes should be done after more of the Last Chronicles was published.

I feel we should wait until the whole series is done before dissecting it.

You just don't want to make any mistakes.
;)

I'm all for dissecting Runes.
I think that doing it book by book as they come up will not only give us something to do but will give us more insight and depth for each successive book.
Seems like whenever I crack open the book and pick a few pages to talk about people are interested.

I'd like to too, but we need to, at least, wait till it's been out a full year. And allow some time for the paperback crowd to catch up.

Yeah, kind of. I don't want to read too much (or too little) into the characters we meet in this series before we know everything SRD is going to do with/to them. So far, every chapter I've dissected has been with the knowledge of how the series ends up. I can comment on foreshadowing, and the little things that will end up being big things; that sort of thing. But, right now I can only speculate on stuff, so I'd rather have the big picture before dissecting. Remember, one reason for the dissections is to lead new readers through the books, not mislead them.

Waiting is a good idea, in that sense. Dissections with full knowledge lead to a better understanding of the books.

Of course, it also means we should probably re-dissect the Second Chrons once the Last Chrons are finished :)
