A Question...

Post by OsRavan »

i'm new to the forum and to the covenant series. I have just finished wounded land.

I had a question i was hoping you guys could answer. Im probably just confused or missing something obviouse lol.

but anyway. At the ned of wounded land when the giants come back. I thought the only giants were the ones at grive.. who had all been killed.

then suddenly theres these new giants from their home that i thought the giants had all lost.

and... i thought foamfollowers giants.. that they had found their home. like didnt they sail past an island and then have three triplets born as a sighn? and thus then ask the lords to build... whatever that stuff was... so they could return home? well if the home was inhabited wouldnt the giants at the grive have known it?

im sure the answers pretty obviouse like i said lol. but would be awsoeme if you could explain it to me heh. I liked the ending of woudned land but i was just sort of like "where did these giants come from?" and scratching my head at the end lol

The Land Giants were travellers or explorers.
They were just a small population that left Giant Home and got lost.
The Giants at the end of the WL were from Giant Home on an exploration to find the wrong that Sea Dreamer saw with his Earthsight.

It's actually pretty simple. The Unhomed were descended from a particular group of Giants who had sailed away from Home to explore the Earth and report on their wonderful discoveries. Those Giants (twenty shiploads of them) never returned, but they were only a small part of the total Giantish population. To the rest of the Giants, they were known as 'the Lost'.

The omen of the triplets meant that the exile of the Unhomed was going to end soon. Foamfollower himself suspected that it would end with them all dying, not finding Home again. Unfortunately, he was right.

And tread carefully through this particular forum, spoilers abound, and many seemingly innocuous topics will contain references to the books you haven't read yet. ;)
