Milk Thistle Blues
pathetic lanthanic
entropic deciduous?
carnivorous...
vivisectionists...
mechanical comportment
shall remain loch'd.
clutter and junk.
she grows colours...
junkyard dog /
butcher shop - hate
factory & tintyped
clockwork man.
thumbs drumming
table top - her laser
blue eyes, a cereal
box surprise. uncouth
to youth. buy spatulas
for bachelors - maps
to the stars. north to
south trace, sharks
surfing the waves & I
heard that song I love.
bittersweet and low
radium glow. ashes
to axis, rust to dust...
nothing stays the same.
your ethos are anathema.
relative genius - random
task - a murmuring of
starlings wing their way
past you - past me, on
their way to the open sea.

untitled
I wake up every
morning to the
same old day.
I went to the
bank this morning
& the cashier said,
with a grin -
I'm so sorry sergeant
but your wife has
already been in.
and that's all
she wrote, so
I sent my
saddle home...
stuck out - shut out
and lost again

T0: Sarah (Who Lives Down the Lane)
From : Ted X (Marks the Spot)
Date : Yesterday
Subject : Mechanical Clockwork Shadowbox
Set my jaw to the side. Pursuing new forms, new symbols and new patterns. False symbols will attract people, but will not rust.
I have seven pencils to write this book. I have seven more to finish this work. Some people talk too much, some people have nothing to say.
People can be separated into three groups.
Race Horses
Plow Horses
Soap Horses
Of course horses love sugar. I keep a few cubes in pocket. Out of pocket expenses. This will be submitted.
I heard that song today. Transmission received. I love that song. I think it is about magnesium. Maybe it is about copper mines. The county keeps spools of copper stored in the county storage sheds.
Radiator. Ventilator. Tarnishing sets in, so the varnishing can begin. Shutters set to be shuttered.
Be honest, be truthful, never lie. Left is fire. Right is safe. Why is that so hard to remember?
I found a way. Constructed my construction. The project is under way.
I have not seen you since graduation. You likely do not remember me. Six houses down. I know your brother. I know you may not remember him. I am hoping to correct that.
You may not remember that this is not my first letter to you. The postman is tired of me pestering him.
I created a numbering system for remembering all of this. But I lost the codex somewhere. Or sometime.
I would rather find a differing power source. Too unstable, kept under a corner table. I was warned. Need to buy more wiring. The corner store is closed. It gets too dark, too soon.
Please enclose your new address with your forwarded letter. Or by post. Stayed a letter of protest. I expect a package. The distribution caps to save place and to save space.
Please meet me under the pavilion. Last day of summer, we can lay on the lawn. You pick the year. Watch the clouds over the steeple, open the door...
There is a clearing. The fence is down. Snowfall fell by the river some early morning evening.
There is a clearing.
Please reply by letter box or carrier. I do not have a phone. I am all alone.
I had a wife but could not keep her. She tapped, tapped on my bridge.
There are essential salts. Electricity runs through and echoes. Scattered thunderstorms predicted this week.
I hope this letter finds you.
Well, time to fire the engines.
Wish me luck.
- Ted.

my apologies in advance...
an ex-gf of mine had been holding on to some of my writing for some time now. and it is dreadful. it was for a proposed punk band. the slogan would be...
"you've been force-fed top 40 muzak for far too long... it's time for some Induced Vomiting!"
so here goes what songs she sent me.
the Roof is Leaking (Phil Collins parody)
the roof is leaking and my head
explodes - covering you with bits of bone.
my head is hurtin' and blood is
spurtin' - please baby, don't leave me alone.
Phil
no i'm not Phil
but i'm here
he's a stud
but i'm near
he's too cute
that i fear
Little Bo Bitch
Little Bo Bitch has lost her sheep
and doesn't know where to find them.
just string some wire and they'll come
home, dragging their entrials behind them
alarm
more to be - as i see - you love me - i love thee - big oak tree
cow go moo - i love you - it be true - sky is blue - i see you

they were written to be bad - just not as bad as i made them.
i have started using titles from a list she sent of songs i wrote - but she doesn't have the lyrics for.
two are posted on my bobblings.
Ability, No Compromise
Could You Love Me?
i have added Little Bo Bitch to the Gomer Black songs. (a fictional band novel i am working on - some of that is posted in my writinsg on the watch)
so everyone go ahead - start with the mocking.

anything can be sanitized using bleach
she spits in the sink
stops and lights another
cigarette another one
just before she quits
she sleeps facing away
from him one more regret
when morning comes
he still will be the only one
and when she runs she
will still be the only one

In Vino Veritas
rock, paper, scissors
a bitter pill, a slave to
your gadgets - mud
and rock, rising seas
rescue helicopters and
synthetic drugs - vampire
mice (absurd and unjust)
hymn singing 19th century
temperance crusaders. jazz
musicians and beat poets
all for strength and purity!
to the mountains through
the flatlands under the
heavy spring rain. muddle
through - all the tools
in the toolkit are in use.
math is king! (math is hard!)
is it a historical anomaly
rather than a permanent
phenomenon? strike a cord
and it loses it's resonance.
the cycle spins faster and
(and faster) now stomp
and smash. no new future
is inevitable. humor and
heart. good Samaritan or
a run down Clown frown?
either way is a good humor
man. so you have a second
rate magician in a low budget
home movie. an inverted
Stockholm pyramid scheme.
gun shy summer soldiers
or snow bunnies searching
for chalk and powder. hell-
bent for the aether. (ether?)
and possession is one fifth
hidden under the kitchen sink.
hard pressed to remember a
name, not given by struck
proud orphanages. float along
the dull borders of empathy.

Sugar Room (#44)
of cabbages and kings
we let the transistors sing
resisters are weak sisters
(number them seven) up in
arms over her charms
strange, swing and sway
yard bird is the word
give it up before sun up
the very least - they feast
catch a chain, we refrain
white before Labor Day
grasping for a segue
riding shotgun on a segway
pigeons stew, fed old, cold
gruel - is that too cruel?
(their hearts were untrue)

Today i Was Reminded of You
I am worn
down. unable.
I am empty.
each day gets
a little more
distant. alone.
there is a hole
I can not fill.
