Since They Are In Season

Post by lurch »

...if you want to meet God , try this..take one large fresh ripe Bing Cherry..place in mouth,,add one peeled Hersheys Kiss,,and munch equally...savor for as long as possible. Both ingredients for this taste of heaven, mite be cold or at least cool..or not....BTW,,Hershey Chocolate may be offering sometime this fall,,a "cherry Kiss' short run special production limited time only sort of promo. The above " real thing " beats any cherry cordual I've ever had,,except for the pit. A small price to pay........MEL

I'll be in northern Michigan for the next few days, where the best cherries in the world are grown. You can drive through orchard country and stop off at farm stands and buy cherry pies still warm from the oven.

They sell the freshly picked cherries by the two pound bag. We usually buy several pounds and think we're in heaven for the few days it takes to eat our way through them.

And the wild blueberries will probably be ripe, there for the picking as you hike along in the woods in the state parks.

Uh! I love cherries. Perhaps even my favourite fruit.

lurch, sorry but chocolate and fruit should never come in contact, imho.

But since we're talking fruit:
My blueberry bushes are pretty full and I didn't expect that since it's the first year.

Isn't there a Watch Member that had her own blueberry bushes?
If so I'd like to ask a question or two.

The only fruit that beats the cherry is the gooseberry. :)

I love gooseberrys, especially in pie. Sadly, not only can you not find them around here, if you talk about 'em people look at you like you've flipped!

Mel, that sounds luscious.....might have to buy some cherries and chocolate this weekend. Thanks for the tip!
