Foul Goes to Cold Stone Creamery

This Friday, my friend Seth and I will be heading off for ice cream paradise.

Here's my plan of attack:

A chocolate-dipped waffle cone with one scoop of Chocolate Devotion on top and one scoop of Mud Pie Mojo on the bottom.

First, if you're reading this (and you haven't died from salivating), please lemme know something: how does the different sizes of ice cream work? I mean, can my Mud Pie scoop be large with a smaller Chocolate Devotion on top? Or can I have two large scoops on top of each other?

Next to last question: so, as they're preparing my Chocolate Devotion and my Mud Pie Mojo, I can tell them what extra to put on it? Like sprinkles and all that good stuff? And, last question: do you remember the prices, Fist? I plan on bringing 20 bucks (hope that's enough).

$20 should be Ok for two bowls/scoops/servings, depending on how many extra ingredients you have them add.

I've never tried two different flavors in one bowl/cone, so I'm not sure how that would work.

Prepare to be in ice cream heaven!!

We looked for a Cold Stone while at the beach, but settled for Marble Slab instead.

Hate to say it, but the Creamery was unremarkable. But, as I was eating my chosen flavor with chosen toppings, it struck me that it tasted no better than Baskin Robbins. Sorry, Fist; I dunno why it wasn't ice cream paradise for me. Maybe it was just a bad Creamery (and there might be better ones). Maybe I picked the wrong flavor.

To make things worse, I got VERY sick after eating the ice cream. My friend had to drive for me, because I honestly felt like I had food poisoning. Don't get me wrong; the ice cream was good, but it just didn't match the pedestal on which I'd mentally placed it.

Lastly, I made the mistake of getting a "large"/"gotta have it" portion of chocolate ice cream, which was IMPOSSIBLE to finish. I felt really guilty for throwing away a good portion of it in the trash. Looking back, I think I should've gotten either two smalls or one medium; large was insanely huge.

On the bright side, I did get my first Rufus Wainwright CD, "Want One". I plan on getting his self-titled debut and Poses, as well.

LF, I am sorry Coldstone didn't measure up to your hopes. I still prefer a hot fudge core sundae with Phish Food and Coconut Almond Fudge Chip with mini-M&Ms and whipped cream at my local Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop.

And, said core sundae only costs ~$4.85.

Well, price wasn't the contention; I paid for my selection, as well as my friend's, and it came to 10.85. It was the quality of the food that bugged me. Moment I put it into my mouth I really couldn't tell any difference from Baskin's. Not to say that's bad (Baskin's is great), but I expected something on a higher pedestal. Maybe I bought into too much hype, eh? Heh.

I'm going to try my local Bruster's, but, if it doesn't wow me, I think I'll just keep my loyalty to Baskin Robbins.

Coldstone is good, but for the money, I'll just stick with Ben & Jerry's (dublin mudslide... mmmm).
