Any greeks in here with a kick-ass recipe for souvlaki?

Post by Prebe »

I have searched high an low to recreate the scrummy souvlaki I had on Chiros in Greece. I know It is a combination of the best pork tenderloin, a hot charcoal grill and THE MARINADE!

The best I have come up with, is just not right. It's like I can feel that there is an essential ingredient missing.

For the lack of help in this forum :( I experimented yet again, and I think I finally got it right. And yes, I most certainly remembered tha Tzaziki. That is easy.

I think the essential ingredients left out the other times I have tried were: Ground coriander, Fresh (as opposed to dry) oregano and lemon zest. I ended up combining three different recepies on the WWW.

The difficulty with the sauce, (and that's where you were struggling) is that it's rarely a standard. In fact, that is where by far the majority of recipes will be "customised."

So to discover that particular sauce would be nearly impossible without corresponding with the chef who made it for you originally. ;)

I tried Av. No luck. But as I said, I was reasonably satisfied with my latest try.

LOL! I Will.

If you are interesed in energy politics, you should take a look at the fossil fuels vs. renewable energy sources in the X-forum.

I'm doing most of the research at the moment. I could use some help :)

Everyone seem to be perfectly happy just waiting to see what I come up with.

:LOLS: Actually, I've already voted there, but haven't commented yet. And as for that last, you should be well aware that the more you do, the more people expect you to do. ;)

Will head over and give my 2 cents for what its worth.

Who cares who he is? He's fun to look at, what more do you need?

Mmm.... you're making me think of the Olive Garden, which makes no sence, as that's Italian. 8) (And the ditziness takes charge!)
