I've finished Runes ahead of Jay! I've finished Runes ahead of Jay!
You're on the hotseat by yourself now, Mr. KW! Ha ha!
Ahem, that is all. Thank you.

I've never finished Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid, by Douglas Hofstader, but the couple hundred pages I read were awesome.
Show off.As you'll know if you follow the "reading" threads, I'm sorta stuck for something to read now. I think I'm gonna reread Runes, and see if I can complete my third read before Jay finishes his first.
Hey, there's no need to rub it inYou know you are a slow reader when mass market paperback afficianados like I get finished earlier than you despite you having bought the hardcover, apparently about when it came out too. You really know you are a slow reader when mass market paperback afficianados reading in their second language like I do finish earlier. Donaldson writes so well I couldn't have drawn it out like you if I had wanted to. I took four days to read through The Runes of the Earth which was quite long, considering that I have read Tad Williams bricks in three days, but I had some distractions and started late on a Friday night.
Okay, Jay, looks like you're off the hook. Oh, wait a sec--you'll be at the DC Elohimfest next week. Ha ha, the race is still on!MsMaryMalone wrote:I haven't even started Runes.![]()
It's sitting there waiting for me in all its glory.

The card represents the critical factor for the issue at hand.
Page of Swords, when reversed:
The dark essence of air behaving as earth, such as a sandstorm:
The approach of an unexpected challenge,
met with muddled thought and unjust action.
A person filled with a destructive appetite for all matters of mind and logic.
Voyeurism, espionage, and misguided witch hunts.
The use of clever argument and eloquent speech to mask the truth.
