Hidden Technology

Post by Queeaqueg »

I was doing my daily reading of newnspapers and online sruff when I came across the idea that America have been buiding advanced technology. Me loving techno alien-like...computer game..fantasy stuff, I read on and much I read seems like it can't be real and just be someones over active mind but that is what conspiracies are for. It mentioned stuff like Stealth Camo(like off Metal Gear Solid), Rail Guns(off lots of games), Super sonic jets that can fly 10 times the speed of sound 8O . Cold Fusion(I can't see how it work), Break through Nano machine technology and lots more. The key thing they were trying to outline was that America are hiding it from us... which begs the question on how they could even talk about it(apart from Cold Fusion, that was public and made in Southampton).
I don't know what you think about it. It seems like fantasy to me.

As with most things, it comes down to money. Is the US government paying money to some firm to investigate the possibilities of making this stuff real? I think it is no real secret that the US government does allot a chunk of spending on such things (are 51 is an example), so it is not inconceivable that such stuff as nano tech and other things that would be advantagous to such a government would be explored. Giving funds to an R&D company has been done in the past, I imagine it continues to be done today. And provided said company produces results, they will continue to be given funds...

As to speculating on exactly what could be 'secretly' developed... sheesh, we could guess and second-guess forever without any way of proving it until it came out...

The Stealth Camo is a reality.
It was shown on T.V. (as a prototype, no less) and is used by the military.
It uses sensors to read the image behind the footsoldier and transmits that data to the other side of the suit. (Imagine the movie Predator when you see a distorted outline of the alien... very simular.)

However, this can be used only if the person is standing still. What was shown on The Science Channel, it takes several seconds for the image to trasfer from one side of the suit to the other side and is disrrupted when that person moves.

Next step? Possibility of using this technology for moving vehicles like tanks or personnel carriers.

I never knew that. Strange. Would it be good to have Stealth camo, though. Having invisible soldiers would be weird.

Sure, plenty of research is getting done along military lines, and I'm happy to question how fast it gets released to he public. Whether that's a bad thing, I'm not necessarily sure.

Rails Guns, by the way, are real too, although you can't run around with them a'la Quake yet.

Typically, many advances come from research into military equipment, and it's a well documented fact that technology booms follow wars, because that's when the most money is pumped into research. Radar and microwaves are just two examples.

Oh yahhhh, I did see that program on stealth camo... pretty cool.
Unfortunately (?) all the money that is spent on this type of R&D basically are for military applications... on the good (?) side, often a lot of this type of science finds a way to be used in a consumer market...

Before the SR-71 (Blackbird) was known to the public,
nobody then would have thought that we could fly a jet as fast as we want
and as high as we want.
It was science fiction that a jet could fly to the very edge of space,
and to fly fast enough to actually watch the sun rise
in the west and set in the east. (This was done above the Artic Circle)

Who knows what our goverments have and is still classified or "top secret".
The technology that is being developed for the military
will not be introduced to the general public until it is de-classified, or in other words,
until something better is developed and tested.

Exactly. And once that happens, then commercial applications are put forward for the "declassified stuff. (And who do you think holds the patents?)

I didn't even know half this stuff existed. I looked inot a bit more and read up on things like the Rail Gun and Stealth Camo.
Can that Blacktail fly like it was stuggested? It said it could fly 10 times the speed on sound and lift off from New York and bomb Iraq in 30 minutes(or something stupid).

In actuality, no. The Blackbird can reach speeds of approximately Mach 3.2 (2000+ mph). It can't hit Mach 10. You say "it" said it could fly 10x the speed of sound. What is "it"? (It's it!--Sorry-- bad Faith No More reference) I'm curious as to the source of that info.

As far as new technologies go, Usivius hit the nail on the head. Monies are constantly poured into R&D of new technologies. I am always awed at the new stuff that's thought up and made reality.

Well since we have been talking about super sonic jets, I thought 'it' would be clear when I talk about speed of sound. It was just something I heard that it could go that fast. I can't remember where I heard it, though.

If the goverment has developed better and faster jets (which I'm sure they have),
do you think this may be the "U.F.O."s that people are seeing nowadays?
Imagine the first time someone seen a stealth fighter (F-111A?) streak overhead.
Aerodynamics of a rock, but it can fly! (and fly very well at that)
And almost invisible to radar... something that was unheard of until recently.
Coming towards the viewer it appears to even change shape
due to the extreme angles in the body design.

The stealth bomber design is straight out of WW2
from the German's "flying wing" bomber.
Not a shocking sight to see for the first time.

By "it" I mean the source of your information. Hence the reference to your statement of "it said." :)
