From Bane to Runes

Post by dennisap »

I read the first chronicles in a span of many months. Then five years later the second chronicles. Then ten years later ROTE. Just recently I went through them all. It was an even better reading experience than I expected. Perhaps 2007 would not seem so far away :)

SRD is the only author I do this for: re read all the series books every time a new one comes out.

Same here! I read the GAP books the same way - rereading them all just when a new one came out :)

I'm doing the same thing. Last time I read the entire series was 3-4 years ago. Didn't even know there WAS a Final Chronicles coming out until I found this site completely by accident. Just finished Runes and am now about halfway through LFB.

Welcome to the Watch Anele Sunderson, be welcome and true. :)

Actually, I reread the whole prior series for most things. Especially when the next book takes years to come out.

I read the previous six books once--just finished Runes, and will read it all over again--over again--over again--over again until the next one comes out!

I reread the 2nd chrons when I found out about Runes; I still had time, so I reread the 1st. I've since read Runes twice..now although I have a ton of books I want to read, I keep eyeing the 1st chrons.

i re-read everything. Gabaldon, Erikson, Donaldson (and now i have 2 series of Donaldson to re-read as i'm almost finished with the last Gap book!), and Bakker. these 4 authors are my favorites right now.

i have read the 2nd chrons 3 times but the 1st only once all together. does anyone ever just read a book from the chrons in isolation??i had a hankerin for TIW recently but didn't feel the need to re-read anything else.
It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

I try to reread all series I am in the middle of when a new book comes out. Well, as time allows. I don't even try that with Jordan's Wheel of Time anymore since its so bloody long. :|

In the last couple of years I have been doing my best to only begin series that are completed. :) Which still leaves me in the middle of way too many things. :(

That said, Donaldson is always worth a reread, and I will reread all six of the Covenant novels with great joy when it gets closer to the time for the realease of FR. :D 8)
