Is Japan really that far ahead of us?

Post by Queeaqueg »

I was watching a programme on TV. It said that the Japanese don't carry cash or credit cards any more but just used their phones. Their mobile phones carry bio information about the person and they use this as credit cards plus as train tickets and other stuff. There was loads more about this method and I was wordering why Britian can't come up with this stuff like robots and bullet trains, etc.

That's what I thought but there was some complex way. Sounds stupid or something from the future but the phone is meant only to recognise its owner through bio stuff. I will have to look into it.

It's those finger-scan things. Like those microsoft keyboards with "biometrics" they were advertising a year or two back. Stick your finger over a little patch on the phone and it recognises you.

Ah, like the tv ad with the $6,000,000 Man! :D (And how hilarious is that idea in today's economy! These days, $6,000,000 will get you, what, hairplugs?)

Fist, identity theft is already easy.

Hmm... can you get me more details on this Verdego... I can't really make a judgement till I know about it; how secure it is, how well it works, details like that.

Well, it's not as if Governments go looking through every single one of our purchases'... even if they did, what would be wrong with that? Any pruchase you make on a credit would be perfectly legitimate.

Haha, maybe not there. But here? I guarentee it. Muggers already have been known to cut people's fingers off for wedding rings...
