Sheep in Motion

Post by Lord Mhoram »

It's damn hard to write a sonnet. This one is Shakespearian.

Sheep In Motion

On behalf of mankind, I am feeling
Sheepish. We are so easily led by
Misanthropes, who want us to be kneeling.
Personality cults arrive, and die,
New shepherds lead the same old and tired flocks.
Not tired, but more like tireless. We keep the
Shepherds supplied with keys to precious locks,
Locks to kingdom, to freedom. Yet, we seek
Out new ways to undermine our own rights.
And why? Abdication betrays the hearts
Of men. We allow another’s “bright” lights
To shine. Be responsible for all parts.
I cannot help but despair at the thought
That all I’ve seen, is all that will be wrought.

Too much effort for me to try. Turned out well though Lord Mhoram. Like the message as well. ;)

Thank you. Took me a while to get the syllables and rhyme scheme down, and once you have that, sgt., rhythm comes naturally.
