Free thinking has done us far more good than blind obedience ever has.

And there's no reason an intelligent person can't surrender to something greater, as long as he doesn't surrender his intelligence as well, and keeps applying it to whatever that "greater power" wants him to do.

That way, there's a much better chance that he'll be able to seperate the chaff from the wheat.
