In my right hip pocket is my homework assignment. Unfortunately I was nearly crushed to death in a tragic donut related accident so my jeans are swimming around at the bottom of a giant vat of strawberry cream filling.

Lightning struck me in the left butt cheek sending me flying through a brick wall which in turn crumbled and fell upon me sending me through the ground into an previously unknown, underground cavern in which I found a ancient buried treasure which I turned over to the police who promptly arrested me for being stupid and not keeping the treasure for myself which made me late getting home which caused me to forget to do my homework.

Presumably, I'd give you a pat answer to the question of why I didn't turn in my homework, but it seems I left my pat answers on the kitchen counter, right next to my homework.
