Isn't the whole point of Quick Reply that you don't have to go through the extra screen?

If people don't want the extra screen, they shouldn't bitch about having to wait to edit. ;) ;)

If you use the reply button, then preview, it's two extra screens. We're lazy remember?

Anyway, Jay's set the flood-control a bit lower again. Don't abuse it Sgt.

I tried twice to send a thank-you pm to aTOMiC, and both times got an error message. The pms didn't go through anyway -- I checked my out boxes.

Any idea when we'll get the Internal Server Error fixed?

ah haaaaaa. It wasn't just me then. I have been getting it on and off for what seems like months. I just clicked off rather than persevere, hence my long absence. All is becoming clear...

Everybody gets it, I believe. Vain's aware of it, but I'm guessing it'll take time to fix.

OK, that's good, 'cause I'm getting it at home and at work.

It's apparently some sort of memory thing with the server, which is why it shows up more when you try to view large topics or long search results, etc.

I usually just keep trying until it works. On searchs and such it usually only happens once or twice before working, though occasionally more - seems more like chance than anything whether it'll work or not.

Have you got the "log me on automatically" box ticked on the log-in page?

I'm not getting logged out a lot, and I haven't got the "log me on automatically" option on.

*shrug* But you did, you either wouldn't get logged out, or you would be automatically logged in if it happened, so you might not even notice it.

I've tried it both ways. It was working last night, but now it's happening again. I haven't changed any browser settings or anything. I can log in, but I get logged right back out when I try to post or view a new page. This is about the 20th time I have tried to post this. 8O

It's been a periodic problem for some people, but as far as I know, this is the first time it's happened for a while.

Is the new ID working any better? Have you tried emptying all your browser caches? (I'm just suggesting stuff, have no idea if it'll make any difference.) Not sure when Vain will be back, he's moving house IIRC.

If you can, try logging on from a different machine/ISP/something.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope something works. Otherwise, send Vain a mail.

Good luck.
