Rachel Weisz, eh? Yeah, she could pull it off.

The more I see of her, the more I think Rachel Weisz could pull off any role. And she is such a stunningly beautiful young woman!

I have been thinking and although she may be a bit old now I thought she would make a great Linden!

Okay, lord Absinth sent this to me to post, because he forgot his friggin' password. (Note to Jay, do you have his friggin' password?)

I personally abhor using Traci Lords in this way, because it'll probably destroy THOOLAH.

Eliza Dushku
She has to be *in* these movies
She could do Elena
She could do Linden
She has the power!
And she can do that
Spoiler
"hey, I am a really screwed up murderer thing well, suffering in the sunbane of impossible guilt"
And she can do the all-out endeavouring to save people thing too.
(And she'd sure make Linden more popular!)
And she can bring that crazy sassiness to Elena
And boy, can she launch armies!

Rachel McAdams could do it. Elena. Though I think she looks too young. Eliza Dushku, if she was a bit older, and more beautiful, she would be perfect as Elena.

I think Angelina Jolie could make a great Elena. But she has to cover up her lips, they make her look trashy.

Rachel Weisz doesn't sound bad. I've never seen her in a movie but I think I've seen here on a talk show and I kind of like her look.

I've just started reading Runes and Linden has that constant frown on her face. I think Jodie Foster would have been perfect. Gillian Anderson in the X Files also reminded me of Linden at times, she's so serious and down-to-earth but also vulnerable and beautiful. Naomi Watts looks a lot like Linden, too.
How about the leading actress from Matrix for either Elena or Linden? I can't think of her name, but she's cool.

Alison Hannigan would be a good Hollian, I think.

How about Linda Fiorentino as Linden? Too old by now, I guess, but she would have been good.

Excellent choice Torrent!

i think Famke not only looks the part, but can act better than people might think. when X3 comes out she will have the opportunity to either prove me right or wrong. i really like Rachel Weiss as an actress, but i think she is too pretty to play Linden, if that makes sense.

another choice i have for female character is sure to draw some ire, i know, but i think Liv Tyler could pull off playing Elena. if not her then Jennifer Garner.

Wow, I'm surprised--and deeply disappointed--at the negative comments aimed at some very fine actors in this thread.

For the record, were it up to me I'd cast Angelina Jolie as Lena, with Emily Browning (A Series of Unfortunate Events) as Lena when young. She has a magnificent range, as shown in such flicks as Gia and Girl Interrupted.

Kate Beckinsale would be very good Elena, IMO. When you look at the variety of roles she has done (as opposed to your opinion of the specific films) then you start to get a idea of what she's capable of: Haunted and Cold Comfort Farm and Much Ado About Nothing and Underworld, etc.

I have what might be an interesting nomination for Linden Avery--Amber Benson, best known as Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I've see the actress in real life, so I know just how different she is from the character she played. I'd know that also from the parts I've seen her play in Taboo and on Cold Case as well as other shows.
