I'm sick of "All you can eat" resturants.

The site really doesn't do it justice, or mention that you can keep going round and round, or show a picture of the 5m diameter cooking fire with the racks of roasting joints, but...

Sarge, a friend of mine of the Food Network message board on AOL is the catering manager there. Unless there's more than one Central Market?sgtnull wrote:for great value go to Central market in Houston. plenty of samples of their huge produce, bread, cheese, coffee depts. and you can get most anything at their deli prepared foods depts. we eat there when we can.
SBG, have you ever been to a Brazilian Rodizio-style restaurant? They're popping up all over the US. Although I doubt you'll find warthog or crocodile...Sunbaneglasses wrote:OMG!A meat orgy!Any chance you could export this idea to America?Avatar wrote:There is one place that I go to every now and then. It's called the Carnivore.
No buffet style here, the joints of meat are brought to your table on skewers, and carved onto your plate. Awesome. 20-odd meat courses, from the standards through to warthog, crocodile, etc. and when you're done, you just start over with your favourites. And when you're done, you just start over with your favourites.
Otherwise, *shudder* My brother is a chef. I've worked in resturants. I know what those bastards are like.

He didn't even bring up what they do in the kitchen.Darth Revan wrote:heh. Thanks, I'm never going to eat again.dlbpharmd wrote:That doesn't bother me so much as just watching the people go through the line serving themselves from the buffet bar. I look at the spoon handles and I can't help but wonder how many people who touched the handle before me actually washed their hands before they left the rest room.Esmer wrote:Avatar speaks the heh. and another problem I've noticed, when I was in the biz, and more so now, is that they don't know how to properly prepare, handle, or serve the food. The most common thing, on a buffet, is when they go to fill a low product, and they continuously dump the NEW product on top of the OLD, still in the old pan, thereby usually ending up with something nasty at the bottom of that pan or container after awhile......dlb's "contamination"
