Atlantic Tsunami, May 25th

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I'm going to Paris on the 25th. I can only hope I'm in the air when it strikes. Heh! Ten to one that this story is off the web on the 26th ;)

UPDATE MAY 27, 2006: A clue to the timing of the anticipated event

Many people undoubtedly think that the announced event has fizzled and may be readjusting their outlook on life and returning their lives to normal.

I have trouble doing that when I think of all the dreams and other signs which I have witnessed that point to this event. What would otherwise be the purpose of all these warnings? I know the window cannot be extended indefinitely into the future. Two of the people whom I have seen moved out of harm’s way under the pretext of a social gathering are to return home Sunday night. So I would expect Sunday to be the last possible day.

The worrying thing for me is that the site pastes the American flag to indicate English...as an Englishman I find this both inaccurate and offensive. Inaccurate because in America they don't actually speak English anymore and offensive because it suggests that it's theirs rather than ours. Like so many movies where the script is re-written to depict americans acting out the heroism of Englishmen or Englishmen demonised unfairly, unjustly and untruthfully. Perhaps they can have the US flag depicting Spanglish or something?
