He worked slow. And he had a lot of theory to juggle, which meant a lot more angst and thought went into his stuff than the usual comics fare. He was a passionate devotee of the Pre-Raphaelites, and an awesome painter. In fact, his painting work took up a good chunk of time he might have devoted to comics, which is why his output was fairly low.aTOMiC wrote:Barry Smith is great. I loved his run on Conan. I loved his work on Machine Man. Problem with Smith is he never seemed to do a huge amount of work. If you were never a Conan fan you may have missed the guy completely. I know he's done other things but its kind of sparse compared to others. Wish he had done more.
