Danlo, I noticed your earlier -- much earlier -- suggestion, but that picture wouldn't render at the time (just came up as an "x"). Now I suppose I look like Captain Obvious the Redundant. Anyway, great minds think alike :)

Ahhh yeah! I can see it now. Thomas Covenant grovels on the floor as Dirty Harry Callahan clenches his teeth and says "A man's gotta know his limitations." (or something like that--maybe throw in a "punk" or something)

Ralph Fiennes for TC anyone?

Image

His filmography shows he can play the haunted/twisted guy, and he's about the right age.
"Bannor!" With a wrench, his mounting fear turned to anger. "Bloody damnation! Bannor. Open this door!"

Also I know he'd never agree to it but wouldn't Stephen R. Donaldson be perfect as Prothall?

I totally agree with you two! I've been scratching my head over Covenant casting for years, but Ralph Fiennes as TC is inspired!

Hugh Laurie as TC

Ron Perlman as Foamfollower (not as one of the Ravers as someone suggested earlier)

Jude Law: Mhoram

You made me do it. I can't help myself. Josh Holloway as Hile Troy, for all the babe-ish, foil-y reasons. And because you can cover up half his face with wraparound sunglasses and he'll still be made of hawt.

(PS: What's this stuff about Troy being a decade older than Covenant? Can't remember where I read it, but it ROCKED ME TO THE CORE, I tell you. There's nothing in the text that gives me that impression. Is this meta? Did SRD say something in the GI or an appearance? Because until I hear it from the authorial mouth, I think Covenant and Troy were of an age. *Fretfully pets the woobies* :) )

Yes, great choice having Ralph Fiennes as TC.

How about Angus MacFadyen as Foamfollwer?
The King has one more move.

OOH I totally love Ralph Fiennes in the role. He would rule.

Earlier in this discussion someone suggested Brad Pitt for the role of Piettan and I must say that in my opinion I don't think there is any role in this series that he would be appropriate for....especially Piettan....Although I may just be soured on Brad Pitt in any epic saga film thanks to "Troy." I actually turned to my friend during the film and said, "For the love of God won't someone please make Brad Pitt stop crying!"

Replace the word crying with the word acting and I couldn't agree more.
