OK HELP!!!! i got a you're posting too soon error and then my post was doubled even though i only sent it once.WHAT GIVES? I know i'm a newbie,and don't want to look like a complete dork!!!

Don't worry about it. Might just be a server glitch...we get them sometimes. Or if you refreshed a screen with an error, and it asked you to resend the info.*shrug*
As long as nobody has replied to you, you can delete your own post by clicking on the little X button in the top right corner if you double post accidentally.
As soon as somebody replies though, the button disappears.

I say this with almost total confidence, because for the first time in longer than I can remember, it's now possible to split a thread that's longer than 8 pages, and a search for all my posts actually loads a page.
Nice one Vain. This is half the reason we need you. (The other half is that we just plain like you, but that's not the point.

Back for one day and the problem of months looks sorted.
