The thing that gets me about Blunt is he isn't just blandly dull, he's offensively dull.
I've heard that there are Radio stations in the UK who have banned his music.
I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

They obviously have taste.

Coldplay's pretty bland.

I find any new U2 or REM to be unlistenable.

Yes, Coldplay's music is very, very bland. James Blunt's is more so. *retch*

Anything by James Blunt. He's boring.
The thing that gets me about Blunt is he isn't just blandly dull, he's offensively dull.
The first time I heard the following James Blunt song I was in near-awe from the sheer dumbness of it:

My life is brilliant

*Musical Pause*

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

(chorus)
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause Ill never be with you.

Yeah, she caught my eye,
As I walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

(chorus)
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
You're beautiful, You're beautiful.
But it's time to face the truth
I will never be with you.

(La-la-la-la, La-la-la-la, La-la-la-la, Laaah)

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

Dude - you saw a pretty stranger on the subway with her boyfriend. Do you have to moan and groan about it like you just lost your wife of twentyfive years? Do you really have to be so emo????
Love as thou wilt.

Anything by the Scissor Sisters and Coldplay. Atomic Kitten murdered a few songs. West Life made up pretty awful songs... worse.

Old (and I mean old) ZZ Top is great stuff.

Basically, there've only been a handful of bands worth a crap that've come out in the last 10 years or so, and most of them have a decent debut album, then disappear.

I rarely listen to commercial radio, so I haven't got a clue what the mainstream is.

most of what we are talking about here. Legend, mayer, Beyonce, Mariah Carey for the adult contemp market. Aguilara and Spears for the Teeny Boppers.

Linkin Park, Metallica pass for heavy stuff.

Duchess, that is the exact song I was referring to when I said this:

Wasn't sure if he'd crossed the Atlantic. I notice, however, that he has spread like the proverbial rampant disease.

"Your body is a wonderland" evokes my gag reflex.
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.
