Wow, Sarge. . that is strange! Oddly enough, clam chowder is the only way I will eat clams or any member of the bivalve family. Ick!

I have texture issuse with foods. I hate things that are slimy, squeaky (with the exception of black olives), or rubbery. That rules out most seafood right there. :) Then I have issues about cracking my food out of its body. . . making crabs, lobsters, shrimp and their kin off limits as well (unless included in small amounts in other dishes). However, I do like and eat just about every kind of fish I've ever tried--except catfish. Sometimes it tastes muddy, and that reminds me that it is a bottom feeder.

Oh, too bad you guys. I will only eat whole lobster, in the hopes of getting a female with her roe.

I love both clams and oysters raw on the half shell with drawn butter and lemon slices.

And octopi and squid sushi is heavenly, as well as giant red clam sushi.

well working with an octopus makes it impossible for me to eat them now. no problems with the lower orders though.

Oh man, I hear that. Tactile defensiveness, they tell me it's called. I don't just have it with food though, but with pretty much everything I touch.

Haha, it's the texture in the mouth that's the problem when it comes to food.

And as far as I'm concerned, nothing that makes me sick tastes good.

It is in the mouth really, but I do have issues about touching a few other things too. I have a horrible aversion to cotton balls, and despise opening bottles of medicine that are packed with cotton. :hairs: It's almost more than I can handle. .

My Mother has texture issues with food as well, and cannot handle cooked or cold cereal at all. My brother is the king of food texture issues. He cannot stand anything "mushy" and thus everything from applesauce to mashed potatoes are out of the question for him.

I'm just happy that mine are limited. Now don't get me started about seams in my clothing, or tags in my clothes. . .

Ironically, one of my worst is paper. It's not too bad with books, I try and keep minimal contact with the pages. When I write longhand though, I need something glossy, like a plastic sleeve, to rest the edge of my hand on. Very annoying.
