Art

Post by Bannor »

Hope this is ok. I was encouraged to submit my daughter's art site Arwen Art to this forum in case someone would like to view it. She does fantasy art, and my avatar is her work as well. The full size version is on the site Bannor of the Bloodguard.

Now that is very, very neat! The image of Bannor is well done. (Quite an attractive lad!) Let's have more Arwen Art.

She's good :) Pity the avatar size loses the detail. I have increased maximum avatar size on the settings to 100x100 (from 80x80)

If you want, resize it to the new specs and let's see if it improves the detail.

Oh - and Happy Birthday :)

Actually, I believe the art page at www.kevinswatch.com is still functional ;)

I noticed that in the background - really good drawing. Would be nice to see it in colour (nudge nudge wink wink)

Arwen Art

Post by Bannor »

Thanks to all of you for the kind words! My daughter, Arwen (that's her real name) was happy with the comments. And thanks to Offcenter for increasing the range. It did help the detail a little, and I think Arwen will color the picture as well. Again, thanks for the remarks. I really like this forum.

Birthday

I can't believe that I forgot to thank all of you for the birthday wishes! 50 is a nice round age, and I have attained the age...still working on the "round"!

Belatedly, I'd like to say I checked out Arwen Art, and your daughter's REALLY good.
Having read SRD, I should be able to use my forcibly extended vocabulary to come up with a better compliment, but never mind...

No need for greater vocabulary

Actually, I think your compliment was quite excellent! Arwen and I say, "Thank you, Covenant Jr.!"

Extremly Cool!!! Love the site! :) Two of my cousins draw pretty well, but nothing of their's can match your daughter's artwork. One word- Wow! :)

Yes. Very nice work. Self taught? Call me crazy, but I see a lot of bohemian influence.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Bannor, your daughter draws very well. I always liked your avatar, but I'd never noticed the detail until I saw the larger pic. :)

Heh, this thread is very old, but I have always loved your avatar, and have been to your daughter's site before from the link at the Gap, and I just want to see, she's good, very good! :)

Thanks, Mhoram. I was amazed that one of my original posts was still around. I'll tell my daughter your compliment. I'm enclosing a new drawing. Knowing my predilection for Watership Down and Lord of the Rings, she drew a combination bunny/Gandalf and called it Bundalf! (Some of you may have seen this previously.) :D Image

She's very talented! I was once considered a "great artiest" in my elementary school days. Unfortunate, though, that I still drew like a 4th grader in middle school and high school!

You must ask her to do one of Lord Foul! :) Oh, or maybe an extreme close-up of Foul's face to the point where you can only see those venomous eyes.

Or Tyrion Lannister! That'd be a nice challenge!

I agree, though it looks like a younger Tywin to me.

Yes...speaking of a younger Tywin, I'd like to see a short story about the Trident to see Robert and Ned when they were younger :D
