If they really want to lurk, there's an option in your profile that prevents all but admins from seeing your online status.

The first time I saw that 48 hour thing I thought all of those people were on line then and there and that we were in the middle of setting a HUGE new record!

I thought the same thing, duchess. I love that new feature - it's nice to know who's been around lately, even if they aren't on at the same time as me.
