Why I Write, by An Author

The reason tHat I writE is of course because I Love writing! I enjoy Placing each indIvidual word in the perfect position on the pAge; I love stringing together meanings and Metaphors, Building up an imagE of another world wIth my words as they roll out across the screeN. I’ll Grant you I don’t always Hit thE mark; I’lL occasionally slip anD droP a caReless phrase In the middle of thingS, and sOmetimes there are words that have No right to bE theRe BY any standards giant. But pIece by piece the words eveNtually coaleScE into a CompleTe Story, and (THough I say so mysElf) the purpose and message finallY becoMes cleAr. Some knacK dEveloped over tiME helps me to WRITE things the wAy I aLLways pictureD them in my heAd, mY minds eye trANsferred Deftly onto paper.
ANy wrIter can Gain tHis talenT, with enough experIence. I alwAys try to encourage aMateur writerS tO wriTe as often as possIble, to REgularly sit Down at a table and just wrIte: DON’T waiT for inspiration to HIt you--writiNg takes worK. Many of THE best authors spent Years wRiting novEls thAt never solD: they used this experience to improve their CrAft.
I REad vociFeroUsLy, at Least when I have time, within mY arEa of iNterest, and OUtside it. I may write GHost sTOries, but I read a lot of myStEriEs and crime THrIllerS in my free tiME. I find it iS a good way to relax after a hard day’S work, And exposure to various forms can GrEatly improve your skill.
But mY second Great lOve is hearing the response from Delighted readers who have lIked my work, and found something in it of wortH. On my Previous tour, I mEt many fans who had found SOMEthing in ONE of my works they loveD, gained sOmEthing from the experience. Some fanS had been inspired by my work (they Said) to bEgiN writing themselves. I hope that many more will Do so.

Yours HELPfully,
An Author

[A message from the editor: Despite great interest, the author has declined comment on the idiosyncracy of the preceding essay, and on the rumours circulating there is something to be found there other than his innocent words of advice. Having studied the work closely, I personally do not believe that there is any substance to these accusations. He has, however, requested that the many typographical errors remain uncorrected.]

--------
A metafiction, the result of my attempt to write on a daily basis (which isn't getting anywhere near my 1667 word target so far, with 454 and 408. I'm hoping to build momentum as I get used to it.).

I thought it would take too much effort to get "arachnids" in. That and "from space".

Also, anyone who doesn't read carefully enough to see that message, insect or no, is clearly illiterate. I should've worked on making it a little less obvious, but i'm lazy that way.
