You are wise and good. You have no need of war. All who live, and all who will live, will eventually end up in your domain, regardless. Although I can see the benefit of such an arrangement, and genuinely thank you for the offer, at the moment, I would appreciate everyone keeping entirely out of my areas. I assume history will, indeed, repeat itself, and I want my lands to be as secure as possible. After I get the appropriate security measures set up, I will welcome your priests in this capacity.Murrin wrote:Our brethren, we would ask a boon of you. Having claimed the afterlife as part of our domain, Maeror feels it is our duty to care for the dead and comfort the bereaved. We would request that a presence be granted in your cities, a single priest if that is your preference, to oversee the rites of funeral and mourning. The priests would answer to the laws of the lands in which they reside, and the preaching of our faith will be restricted to the domain of grief, leaving you to govern your worshippers where they will in all other matters. No attempt will be made by them to assert superiority or supremacy over any other god. If you could accept these terms, we would be grateful.
(And, hey, save the "We" and "Our" stuff for those over whom you rule, eh? Unless you're suggesting we are among them.
