How do you feel today?
Moderator: Orlion
Oh, Av. . . I am so very sorry to hear this. I can but imagine the pain and loss you are feeling right now. I will keep you and your loved ones in my thoughts during the difficult days to come as you struggle to make sense of what has happened. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. My deepest sympathies,
~Lyr

I hope I have your strength when I face similiar losses. I've always agreed on you with pretty much everything, so perhaps that's a good sign that I will.Avatar wrote:Thank you so much everybody for your messages of support, they're greatly appreciated.
All things are transient, ourselves and our loved ones not excepted. I'll be fine. Keeping busy sorting things out you know?
Be back when I can. Stay safe everybody.

I'm sorry too Av, hugemongous hugs to you and your family.
I am having a tough day. We had a power outage around noon today and when the power came back on and I brought the computer up it gave all sorts of hinky error messages and then I discovered that I can't access any of my work programs. The computer guy has been working on it since two but I still can't do any of my paperwork or even provide customers with totals for their bills or invoices. Of course it is the last day of the month so it will make my bookkeeping a nightmare. The only thing that works is the internet. GAH. I hope I am not here until midnight....

Sorry Avatar.
It doesn't matter how old you are when it happens either.
I felt like a lost little kid when my mother died.
But only in the hope that it will make you smile I will give you this:

Dontcha HATE THAT? Didn't the el cheapo boss provide all your computers with power surge protection? I hope your computer geek can recover your data and sort you out WELL before midnight Jenn!! If not, lace your coffee with schnapps - that'll at least make the work more interesting...Cameraman Jenn wrote:

Today is my gorgeous bubby nephew's FOURTH BIRTHDAY. He's such a little sweetie - when I was away in New Zealand and would phone home, he was insisting on being the first to speak with me, asking how many times I'd fallen on my bum while snowboarding, asking when I was coming back etc, and when I did see him the day after I got back home, he flew into my arms and gave me such a huge strangling hug!! Am I a doting besotted aunty or what?

happy birthday to Daniel!!

Thanks again everybody. I greatly appreciate all the support.
Never really having been anything but a present-orientated person, I seem to have gone quickly from shock to acceptance. Perhaps it is simply the speed and pressure of things to be done, but it doesn't feel that way.
The past, or possible presents, "could-have-beens" has never been worth dwelling on for me, because I know that it always here and always now. We can only affect the future, nothing else. So I really do think I'm doing ok.
Anyway, will be away again Tuesday and Wednesday for the wake and the bank stuff, then back again.
Now I'm off to the 'Tank.
Take it easy everybody, and thanks again. A lot.
