You're scrupulous? From what perpective?

I would think that you could be doing a much better job than you are now. Or perhaps it's that the job you are doing is to the benefit of yourself, more than anyone else.

I tire of this arguing and of the constant attacks against my character. Do as you will, and we shall see what becomes of it.

You have been given every opportunity to end this crusade, Adomorn, and you have refused at every turn to see reason. I will therefore take matters into my own hands.

I have seen the only light I need Maeror, your grip over the dead ended.

It was not my intent to shine a light on your specific actions yet again. I merely listed it among the other difficulties I have had lately to explain why I am not more informed of the strife between Adomorn and Maeror.

Adomorn, until you can provide proof that Maeror is as dangerous as you claim I will oppose you in your crusade against them. Your actions not only appear groundless but your demand that our sibling surrender the stewardship of death is both alarming and suspect.

Allfather wrote:The people of Linver beg for your deliverance when ghosts and restless spirits start stalking the streets of the city.
It was Maeror sending the souls of the dead from their resting place to haunt Linver, where he wanted nothing more than his own controll.

As if that weren't enough to show the mistreatment of the dead,
Allfather wrote:The strange disturbance near Agathi settles down when your power pours into it. Something else also acts to hold it shut - a dark power born out of screaming souls.
When a rift appeared in the lands south of Agathi, I asked Maeror, as a sign of goodwill to help me. He sent multitudes of the dead into this rift, to be destroyed. Dangerous in itself, there was no telling whether or not that would in fact makes things worse. I believe it may have.

Shortly after this man appeared in Linver.
Allfather wrote: A mortal named Chastus appears at the gates of Linver, at dawn, loudly calling for you, challenging you to a fight. His voice echoes through the streets of Linver as the mortal challenges you, calling you a coward should you not meet him in battle, and attracting throngs of your worshipers, both curious and afraid to see what will happen to this upstart
I sent my power into him, to show him the might of the gods, and silence his heresy, here is what happened.
Allfather wrote:As your power floods into Chastus's mind, attempting to strike him mute and to show him a false vision of the universe, something strange happens - it is as if he weren't actually there, or rather as if he were some sort of "hole", through which your power is drained without apparent effects, pouring into some vast emptiness. For the longest moments of your immortal life, you feel a tugging at the very core of your essence, and you realize with crystal clarity that if you gave in to the tugging, you yourself - deity as you are - would be sucked into Chastus's emptiness and be forever lost. Struggling with all your might, you manage to free yourself from Chastus's grip, but the creature smiles wickedly, obviously aware of what transpired, and somehow uses a portion of your power to cloak himself into a mist that makes his movements invisible to you or other gods.
It strangley resembles the rift in Agathi, no? Beings such as this don't just wander around. It is my belief that Maeror, though not purposefully, caused this being to exist. His usage of the souls of the dead caused this being to appear, and he doesnt seem to be up to any good, it nearly caused my demise. And now he is running around invisible for any of us to see.

I want Maeror to give up his controll of the dead, not for my use, but to stop any further damage from being caused. Though, it may be too late.

Understand my position now, Sister? I don't want your help, only to stand aside.

Fool. You are not the first to be challenged by this Chastus. Sister Norn, would you care to enlighten out brother on this subject?

*shrug* Maeror has always dealt honourably with me. And it seems to me that only fools would rather battle than act in concert to solve problems.

You say yourself Maeror did not intend the result, was, in fact, trying to aid you. And now you will war against him rather than spend your power wisely?

*shrug* Fools.

It matters not if I'm the first. Only if Chastus came about first after the rift was "fixed".

It seems that Norn is not present to discuss this*, so I shall present the facts myself. On the third season after our return to this world, Norn brought the following event before the gods:
My brethren, recently a man named Chastus arrived at the gates of Avenberry and called me to battle, declaring that I am not fit to possess the divine power that I claim.
When she attempted to confront him...
...the fool chastus who stood before the gates of Aven berry berating me has turned out to be nothing more than an empty shell sent against me by an unknown master for purposes of their own.
So you see, Adomorn, this creature has existed for quite some time. Had you followed the simple rule of knowing your history, you might not have come so close to destruction.

________
*D'oh! Would've worked out nicely, too, if Norn hadn't logged off right before I passed the topic over to her.

You are correct. I should have remembered the previous encounter Norn had.

However, all this does is take off a potential by-product of closing the Rift. It doesn't change the fact that thousands of souls were destroyed in that proccess.

Indeed. Well, although I do not wish this on Undine, I cannot worry about it at the moment. I'm sure it will come to me soon enough, though.

The amusing thing is that anyone can transport or mutate the plague and I will be the one who takes the blame. The guilty party will profit from the attention focused on me.

*Sigh* Let's end such suspicions now. On the Oath of the Allfather, I am not spreading the plague in Thellarr.
"Oh of course," the Navigator said with faint mocking in his voice, "you have probably heard of House Praetus. We have a palace on Holy Terra. Like all powerful groups, we also have our enemies. Do you honestly think someone like you matters?" - A dissolute noble.

It is true that I was the first of our number, as far as I know, to be challenged by this Chastus.
Pantheon All-Father wrote:A man named Chastus reaches Avenberry and there he rails against Norn, daring her to come before him for a battle, and claiming she is not fit to possess the divine power she claims.
I personally faced Chastus in battle, for I was not about to stand by and be belittled in such a manner.
Pantheon All-Father wrote:Chastus is easily dispatched, but before dealing with him in a final way, you realize that he is an empty shell - nothing more than a puppet of some sort, created and sent against you for unknown purposes.
I then used my power to see if I discover anything about his origins.
Pantheon All-Father wrote:Little can be learned from Chastus's remains, except that his dying thought - if "thought" it could be called - echoed with the name "Nephirthos".
It would seem that the malefic one who shattered Eiran is somehow working to promote disharmony amongst us.
