I know there were numerous salt wars but salt isn't really a food is it?

OK I've learnt something new to do with bacon which is GOOD, here in Switzerland.

Lots of little bits of fatty bacon fried up and put in a bowl - called Lardons.

Make your raclette (read - melted cheese in a pan), tear up some nice fresh bread into bitesize pieces and dip a piece of bread (on a long fork) into the cheese then into the lardons.

Yummy!
:D Guess what I'm having for dinner tomorrow... ;)

(Ladies and gentlemen, please be VERY careful when cut-and-pasting to do quotes on the board, I just very nearly managed to quote my whole current move for Pantheon here in the bacon thread! )

In Pantheon? Just floating on the sea taking in some rays.

Or now? Just about to cook breakfast and seeing as I'm in the bacon thread, I'm gonna have some bacon butties.

Edit ARGHHHHHH! Bacon's out of date. That's my day RUINED!

What a fantastic use of bacon. Very instructive photographs too!

Toasted white bread with cheese, piled high with crispy crunchy bacon and then fresh tomatos. Mmmmmmm....

Heh! My propensity to burn food actually comes in handy with bacon.

Cooking with Baconnaise--Burger Sauce
by Spanno on November 10, 2008

Baconnaisejar_2And so begins my series of posts, "Cooking with Baconnaise--Recipes for Bacon Lovers". For those who don't know, J & D's, the diabolical geniuses behind Bacon Salt, recently launched Baconnaise, a bacon-flavored mayo. Thanks to some clever marketing and loyal bacon-loving fans, Baconnaise is now an internet phenomenon, featured on CNET, Seattle P-I, Epicurious, Slashfood, and, soon, BusinessWeek.

well...

I guess if all you had was Baconnaise, lettuce, tomato, and a couple of slices of bread, you could sorta get away with it...

It's probably just mayo with liquid smoke and pork flavour. Yuck!

So? Isn't that a desire that can be consummated almost effortlessly and with remarkable celerity?

(or you can eat the sandwich with cellery or whatever....)
