Swimming with dolphins ended up being blah...crappy weather...barely a dolphin in sight (apparently the big fishing tournament had something to do with that - go figure !)...and I don't have sea-legs (just pale well shaped ones :P)

Will need to do that again sometime soon I suppose and hope for a better outcome. On the plus side - dinner was good last night. The waiter was a riot. Some bloke from LA who described New Zealand as The Land of the big Pink Bubble (it's generally know as the land of the long white cloud because of its ability to rain whenever). His description was so much funnier so when I asked him to explain he said it was because you cant get killed in New Zealand (unless you're extremely unfortunate) but there are no snakes, deadly spiders, or wild carniverous animals in the entire country - even the sheep are quite docile :)

Oh poor you, Vain...at least we DID see dolphins on our trip!

Land of the big pink bubble huh? Ok, so you don't have venomous critters, but you still get idiots killing themselves 'tramping' on the mountains! But, they're usually Japanese tourist who think that Mt Cook can be climbed wearing flipflops, eh? ;)

Sorry the dolphins were a disappointment.

Sounds wonderfully charming. :D I love rain, like sheep, and think your country is dead gorgeous. I'd love to disappear there (to a isolated place with a few amenities) for a few months. . . let the world forget about me! :)

Thanks guys. I'm sure to have more success next time :) And yes Elfie - stupidity isn't country-bound :)

Wylde - there's more than enough places here to disappear :)

She likes it, though she has to buy some stuff to maintain it. It has been a real confidence builder for her!!

Ditto for the Elf-world! (except we have MORE rehearsals scheduled on both days this weekend and I won't have my weekly playtime with my cutie-bub nephew... )

I feel a little down. I submitted my resume last Friday for the job I want, and no response yet. I hope it just means that the director is busy. How many days should I wait before calling (as I said I would do in my cover letter)?

Other than that, I have the beginnings of a migraine. I think I'll go to bed early tonight. :?

I feel on top of the world today. Three weeks ago I was tasked with developing a marking system for routine and non-routine ambulance calls. That is, ambulance transports between hospitals, between private facilities and hospitals and vice versa. I spent the enture day working on a scoring program to evaluate calls in the ambulance service. And it works. It works damn well! There's a bit of minor tinkering to weight individual sections and questions, but that's small work. Anyway, this system will go statewide, so all of Queensland (within the ambulance service) will be using my system eventually. :D

You're a renaissance man, Lore! :)

Writing ambulance protocol for an entire state, laying plans for studying the stars!

I read Di Vinci started out that way. ;)
